Samurai Flamenco just gave the fuck up on itself. It’s all supposition on my part but I think they realised that they don’t have the budget to keep up on what they envisioned so they decided to go all out and turn absurd in hope that it will catch on and turn viral. Too bad it’s too trite and kinda shitty. That is the only explanation I had with how the quality of the script that gave us awesome clever lines like “mask rider is a illegal biker” and production value high enough to make a silly scene of chasing over an umbrella had so much heart suddenly turned into something cliche and boring.

The first sign of things to come is the sudden shitification of Goto. Goto was your realist cynical man who had lost all passion in life. He was smart, sarcastic and acted totally like a real human being. Then he became a boring person who says cheesy shit. Before episode 3, when asked why he became a police officer, you might expect him to say something like he did it because he had passion in becoming a hero but realise it’s not what it seem and the only reason he kept on with it  is because it is an easy job. But NO!  For some reason, he went through shitification and act like he had some tragic back story to tell instead.

Red Axe was suppose to be that washed out artist that tried to use Samurai Flamenco to regain back his fame but I don’t think they followed that through.

Flamenco girl should be something more interesting that told us the double face of a pop idol but she just kinda became a one note character that stomps people nuts.

Samurai Flamenco should be a story about a silly boy trying to be a vigilante and ended up failing but learned something along the way while rekindling the passion of a jaded guy . It should be light hearted and witty but then it turned all serious and stupid.

I am utterly disappointed with it.

My New Year doesn’t really start until I know I have at least 3 months of vacation ahead of me. This might be the last time for me to have the rights to be a bum for 3 months so I have decided to push away every requests from friends, jobs, schools and family to fully indulge myself  into my own pursuit to rediscover or pick up new hobbies. And of course, constant masturbations.

With that, I have set some goals. You need to have goals in life so you won’t kill yourself because you can’t find any meanings in life. So goals are good and you can go on and kill yourself after achieving them because achieving them will just get you back to a meaningless life. That’s why you should set impossible goals like the one listed down below to delude yourself into thinking that you are constantly pursuing for something, even though what you pursue can’t be attained. It is fun that way like how Millennium Actress teaches us.

Goal Number 1: Finish off the essential UC Gundam.

I want to watch stuff like Gundam 0080 and 08th MS Team but god damn hell I am anal about sequences. I can’t bring myself to play Dragon Quest 8 because I haven’t complete DQ3 after I finished off DQ1 and DQ2. Gundam in this regard is worse because it is a continuing line of linear plot progression. Jumping straight towards stuff like Char Counter Attack is definitely ok but hell you won’t have the full experience without experiencing Gundam 0079 and Gundam Zeta first. I got the same feeling for spinoff ova like 0080 and 08th MS Team as well so I need to fire through the TV series quick.

For now, I have completed the First Gundam TV series. It is dated and very boring but I have to plough through it to understand Zeta. More importantly, I am an elitist fuck so I must earn at least the cred of finishing off the First Gundam even though I am pretty cold with Robots cartoon. Though to give First Gundam its credit, it gets a lot better after episode 30 when all the super saiyan crazy metaphysical bullshit start spewing out from Tomino’s ass.

My plan is to complete Zeta, maybe skip ZZ then go right straight to Char Counter Attack then I am in free range to pick out any other Gundam after that.

Goal Number 2: LoGH Gaiden

A lot of people pretty much gave up on these after finishing the main series because hey, LoGH is awesome but I had have enough of it with 110 episodes now.  I am thinking of just buying the 4 Gaiden novels instead of watching the 50+ episodes of it, I don’t know.

Goal Number 3: Watch more 90s Anime

I always find that the 90s to be strange period for anime because I feel that there are lots of awesome shit in there but when I try to list them all out, my list turns out to be quite empty. There is this strange void with the 90s anime where the actual amount of good shit isn’t quite what you have expected.

For now, I have completed a handful of 90s cartoon that isn’t based on manga. I love all of them and would like to seek more  because I love the 90s art and storytelling style. It is a cool transition period where the line of dated and modern is blurred so you get this piece of mess that look so cool but still kinda corny.

I already have a few targets in mind but I won’t list them out because listing them out will revoke my anime cred. Hint: I didn’t complete Cowboy Bebop… … and I totally skipped the 1995 GITS and have only seen the GITS 2.0 movie.

Ok, I want to complete these series:

Captain Tylor

Crest/Banner of the Star

Giant Robo

Cowboy Bebop

Legend of Black Heaven

Ginga Sengoku

Gao Gai Gar

Mahoujin Guru Guru

Goal Number 4: Watch more Classic Cartoon

I recently wrote a long comment on someone’s blog about how it is very important to know the history of anime and how we should all watch the classic to learn how anime got from point A to point B.  I haven’t seen Rose of Versailles, Harlock, Yamato and Galaxy Express 999. I should go kill myself. I did watch the first commercial Hentai ova called Lolita though. It is very interesting. I should watch Lemon Angel next.

Last Goal: Read all the Manga I Bought

Look at my collections page. I only finished a quarter. They are all now  in my toilet, waiting for me to complete them while I shit.

1) This anime tried to be (a) Ghilbi/ Ghibli-eqsue /Ghibli ripoff

How many times have you heard people calling something a Ghibli ripoff just because an anime has a fantastical setting with bright colours? Every fucking time! Ghibli this and Ghibli that, apparently, Ghibli invented everything anime. How about everyone and everything is a ripoff of IWICSYI?! I am a  human and there are a lot of humans in anime, they fucking ripped off the idea of human from me!

2) This anime subvert this and subvert that.

How about I subvert your ass and turn you inside out to make you a subversion of human yourself! Fucking hate this phrase! Gave me tons of false hope entering a series expecting something special but disappoints me ultimately. If people really care about subversion, Book of Bantorra and Windaria will be huge by now! Subversion my ass.

How about expecting your mouth to be stuffed with shit so you will be too busy wiping off shit to type bullshit like this? How about I slice your life apart to show you the true slice of life? What the hell does slice of life means anyway?! I live a badass life like Onizuka  and run up a wall every single day. GTO is my life! Onizuka is a realistic depiction of me. GTO is slice of my life! Fucking hell.

Now if you can spare me some moments, I need to piss blood till the end of time now because I read my own blog 24/7.  Oh, and if you want to stay awake, drink Chinese Tea. When I was born, I prepared 5 million cups of Chinese Tea and drank them all in 5 second. I have not been sleeping since then.

Worst show ever? Not worthy for that title.

Mars of Destruction is stupid, weak and a waste of time but worst show ever? Man, people from MAL disappoint me. Do they even watch anime? How can Mars of Destruction be the worst show ever when it was so tame and not really that boring? I can easily name 30 series that are worse than MoD.

Now we all know that” the worst show ever” have two meanings. The first being that it is so boring that it’s bad and the other one being that it is not actually terrible because it is the most awesome thing in life. In other words, so ridiculous awesome that idiots who think that they are sophisticated can’t comprehend. Some called the second type of worst “so bad, it’s good” but I don’t buy that because I think they are genuinely good because they entertain. Not to mention, it’s paradoxical and illogical for something bad to be good.

Anime like Hoshizora Kiseki, Mizuiro, Yotsunoha, Kowarekake no Orgel and Del Power X belong to the first definition of boringly bad. They are boring because nothing substantial happen. They are too tame and mediocre but they are so meh, you don’t even have any expectation for them to be disappointed or get angry about.  These mediocre series are also not morally corrupt or popular enough for you to hate because nobody likes them and they tanked like they are supposed to. For one, Del Power X is so obscure that the fansubber tried really hard to get a LD version of it. For the other shows, have you even heard of them?

It had been really long since I wrote anything. So in order to rub some oil on the gear of my rusty writing skill which is always rusting in the first place, I will write some short snippets of thoughts I have.

#1 I don’t like the idea of romance harem series taking the route of doing episodes that separate every girl’s arc and restart it after every arc ends. I rather they converge everything together like how they did it in the past. The previous formula of converging every routes at least has this tiny hint of decency where the guy choose only one girl and stay faithful to her. That’s the only redeeming value you can squeeze out from this genre but now they destroyed it by doing the 4 episodes per girl’s arc. This genre is really taking a huge dive with this when they are already falling so hard  in the first place. But why do I care, I pretty much have outgrown this genre and is not willing to try any of it any more.

#2 The more I think about it, the more I dislike Haruhi the movie. Yuki Nagato is definitely the silent moe pandering type but at least she was quite a badass with her crazy skills. So what the movie did to her? They pretty much gave her feelings where she felt angst to show that she’s becoming a human. That’s all right actually but they render her into this helpless girl and strip all her badassness off like how you strip of a helpless loli. Pathetic.

Now I am ok with the notion of damsel in distress and being weak in the first place because we know that girls are almost always useless so it at least is a reflection of  true life but I dislike the idea of  letting someone strong becoming weak for lousy reason such as upping the moe factor for a character. The whole movie felt like an excuse to show us the cute blushing of Yuki Nagato and her alternate persona of helpless moe.

#3 Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 aka First Gundam is really an influential piece. I know because so many episodes are so boring and generic  because other subsequent real robot series  clearly ripped off tropes from it, hence rendering the First Gundam to this uninspired “I have seen it” robot series .

Due to that, I guess I should give shit to all the subsequent real robot series instead but it still remain as a fact that the first Gundam does not hold up well because you probably have already seen similar plot else where, that is unless you are not familiar with your usual mecha anime.

Other problems I have with Gundam is its shitty romance where people fall in love with one another with not build up. The Mirai X Steggler case for example was just awkward and I can’t help but feel like it is a cheap attempt to make Steggler’s death more spectacular.

Speaking about deaths, there are lots of cheap deaths in Gundam. The worst I have seen is Garma’s fiancé’s death. She died after slipping off a ship because she trembled too much. Matilda’s death isn’t any better. She crashed into a Dom for no reason and guess what, the Dom killed her of course. Slegger and Ryu deaths are the few that actually make sense and work.

Of course, there are also lots of positive for Gundam such as its brilliant comedy. I particularly like Dozle Zabi because he is one of the funniest character in Gundam. There is this one instance where the enemy is attacking him and he got really hype up and command his troop to advance. Pretty standard stuff but that’s not good enough for the magnificent Dozle Zabi . For someone as badass as him, you just need to end your commands by asking for more coffee. Yea, coffee. I agree with him that coffee  is definitely the thing you should be thinking of during a life and death matter because you definitely can enjoy it when your ship is shaking due to enemy attacks.

Now talking about comedy, what about episode 14 where your enemies are so friendly, they can wait for you to deactivate the bombs they planted and act as civilians to say hi after that because they are so enamored by your skills? Brilliant, just brilliant.

Not to mention, the G parts bullshit is very useful and hilarious as well because it allows the  creators to mock you by wasting your time because they know you definitely cannot do without the Gundam transformation/separation scene when it will be totally all right if the Gundam is already separated from the G parts in the first place.

Well, that’s the 70s for you but I do have to say that the final few episodes where they reveal the New Type super saiyan shonen powerup awesomeness were very interesting. Some of the manly scene from the Zabi’s families and others where they fought to their bitter end were well done as well. The robot fights are surprisingly spectacular even with its dated animation.

As for those who are interested in the Gundam Franchise, I really recommend you to stick with the Trilogy movies  as 43 episodes can be really gruesome to plow through.  Not to mention, the movie touched up a lot of retarded problems I mentioned above. They also discard the whole G parts bullshit as well. Generally, it’s accepted that the movies are better but they do discard some really great episode such as episode 8 so well, you decide.

With that, I will end off by saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Sometimes , my friends are amazed at my skill of finding obscure shit to watch and thought that I am some old virgin living in some subway watching anime whole day long . Little did they know that I am not the skilled the one , the Japanese are .

So how to find anime to watch? The answer is very simple , you just watch amv . No no no no , not those shitty one made by stupid teenagers .  You need to find those made by the Japanese , especially those animator oriented one because most of them featured things that you don’t normally see . So how do you do that?  I don’t really know how I did it but clicking around youtube helps.

Here’s an example of how an amv helped me to find more anime to watch:

After watching that amazing amv , I googled to find out who the fuck is  吉成曜(Yoshinari Yoh)  first. Then I look at the ann list and check out  the anime that I never heard of then do some research on it . With that , I may just chance upon something of my interest from my research .

However , for Yoh Yoshinari case , I heard of everything he did but that doesn’t mean that the amv was useless . After watching the amazing animation of the amv , I am now motivated to finish Diebuster. Not only that , I also kinda interested in Tetsujin due to interesting animation I saw from the amv.

From my limited knowledge , I sort of know that Tetsujin is one of the earliest giant robot show and I think I heard that there’s a reboot recently . I researched it and found out that the 2004 reboot was directed by Imagawa Yasuhiro , the guy who did highly acclaimed stuff like Giant Robo and Shin Mazinger . Now I am very interested in it and it’s only 26 episodes so I am planning to watch it . After finishing it , I may just garner enough inertia to finish Giant Robo and Shin Mazinger as well .

You see , the snowball from a simple amv just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

My next reward from the amv is RE:Cutey Honey . I am sort of iffy about the whole Cutey Honey franchise because it sounds like Charlie Angels and it’s so fucking long . But then I know Gainax (Hideaki Anno specifically) did a 3 episode ova and it was an alternate version . After watching the amv , I know I am definitely interested to watch it now because the explosions looked as good as my semen exploding ,which is of course a spectacular sight .So in the end , I decided to give it a try and who knows , maybe I will like it enough to watch all the other iterations . This again showed how a simple amv may help to expand my viewing list.

Things don’t just end here . In the related video section of that amv , there are a lot of other animator oriented amv so there’s a high chance for you to find more anime that you are interested in as the easiest way to decide on which anime to watch is to actually watch cool footage of it .

You may also learn more about the animators along the way like how I know that Yoshinari Kou is Yoshinari Yoh’s brother and they did this and that . Then from what you learned , you may just find out more works that interest you due to their involvement  . So the snowball starts rolling from a simple amv to you researching on the animator to knowing more about the animator to becoming a fan of the animator to watching something that the animator involves in .

Not to mention , it’s also good for bragging rights. Next time when I mention their names ,  you will think that I know them because I am a fucking loser but in reality , all I did was just leaching the amazing power from real otaku .

On a serious note , if you think about it ,  otaku are really sick because they actually know which particular scenes belong to which animator . The only thing I can say to that is ” I sure have a lot to learn and just knowing Itano Circus can only bring you so far”. With that , you should also understand how you aren’t actually an otaku because if you are one , what do you call those who can link scenes to animators? They are still losers though.

Now , I hope that you can see how important it is to know who made your cartoon because it’s actually one of the biggest source to help you expand your anime knowledge and find more interesting anime to watch .For example , I will never be interested in stuff like Eternal Family if I didn’t know who Koji Morimoto is , nor will I be motivated to watch Paranoia Agent if I didn’t know Satoshi Kon worked on it . Not to mention , now I have seen what Yoshinari Yoh can do , I am interested in watching Trava just so I can look at his amazing animation .

Last but not least , the chances of enjoying the stuff from the same creator who have works that you enjoyed is high .

Ore Imouto

Comment: Run-of-the-mill but watch-able. Other than that , no strong opinion.

Will I watch it? No.

Will I recommend you to watch it? No

Will people still watch it? Yes and they thought that it was great.

Targeted Audience: Those who actually thought that  unfunny otaku centric meta jokes like “oh, Cross Day appears on-screen , oh so funny” are funny. Moe fans.

True Targeted Audience: People who want a cute and trendy sister who is also an otaku (just like them! ) so they will feel like they are fucking someone of the same calibre when they imagine they are fucking Kirino .

Other Possible Targeted Audience: People with nothing better to do .

Yosuga no Sora

Comment: Run-of-the-mill and slightly less watch-able than OreImo . Other than that ,  no strong opinion.

Will I watch it? No.

Will I tell you to watch it? No

Will people watch it still? Yes , so they can watch an incest ending because they thought that incest ending is cool , or something.

Targeted Audience: For those who have nothing better to do.

True Targeted Audience: For those who want to fuck their sister.

Bang on a door and roll 3 rounds!

It’s fun to find off model arts from pre 2000 series .

I still enjoy Sentimental Graffiti for valid reasons.

I don’t recommend it to picky people though.

Magical Lyrical Nanoha is science.

3. Magical Lyrical Nanoha (All 3 Seasons)

Magical Lyrical Nanoha is a deep introspection of the psyche of 30 years old men and 12 years old girls. The vibrant friendship , borderline romance between the female characters gave us an interesting insight of gender roles and causes serious contemplation about homosexuality . It touches on lots of strong theme such as the future of war machineries and talked about how hyper radioactive laser may causes mass destruction . However , the best message it can offer is definitely the idea of transformation . Using complex algorithm , this anime showed us that transformation just might be possible  in near future by showing us the  key to it , which of course lies in nudity during said transformation .

Shakugan no Shana is life.

2.Shakugan no Shana

Life is like a flickering flame , one day you are here , another you are worm’s food . Shakugan no Shana spreads the truth about the after life and is bold and imaginative enough to back up on such unknown theory. However , the best thing for Shakugan no Shana is the well researched human interaction. Shakugan no Shana goes in deep by using 48 episodes to show us the interactions between cretins and how the fought the internal darkness in their heart . It’s a epic lore of introspection , retrospection and anything -spection . One of the must see for your theory research on human life and human connections with one another.

Lucky Star is Jesus Christ .

1.Lucky Star

Lucky Star is a social commentary on the desperate issues of shut in and escapism in Japan. It showed us the horror  by realistically portraying the victims of said issues and gave us lost of viable intelligent solutions to eradicate the problems. However , not all is grim and nasty because in life , hope and optimism still exist.

With 5 years of scrutinies  , Lucky Star managed to come up with the brilliant plan to give hope and smile for the depressed shut ins and escapists . First , they cure the erectile dysfunction of the depressed by carefully planning out innocent looking erotica imageries to stimulate the facilitation of  sperms and penile erection which is the result of a complex interaction of psychological, neural, vascular and endocrine factors, and is usually, though not exclusively, associated with sexual arousal.

Secondly , they planned up what seems to be a cutesy musical dance but is actually the deconstruction of the psyche of shut in where they fought battles with imaginary reptile miscreations. Each movement of the dance is actually a hint on how to  oppugn these unreal monsters . Thanks to this dance , shut ins and escapists will tergiverse no more and become a better man . Lucky Star is the saviour , the hope for all man kind.

The End.

People don’t like negative stuff , they hate long and draggy rant . I know that but I can’t help to let off some steam sometimes . However ,  I also know that it’s crazy to have your latest post as something negative if you want to keep your viewers. So let’s talk about something happy , something positive and light hearted this time . Let’s talk about the coming autumn anime .

From my last preview post , you can sort of know that I don’t believe in this kind of previews post anymore because you will most definitely miss out something somewhere . Actually no , preview posts just aren’t cool at all because all the cool blogger don’t do it . Though I am quite serious in trying to be positive about every summer series out there . However , no matter how hard I try ,truth to be told , I didn’t  start on any summer series because I am not someone who can follow a show week by week .That’s why I am amaze how people can keep up with the huge amount of ongoing series while blogging it .

Man , how can they do that? Do they even have a life? Am I watching anime the wrong way because I am always finding myself exhausted after one episode because I put in so much effort when I watch anime?  So I thought to myself , since I didn’t try before episodic reviews and I need to build up the habit of watching anime week by week , why not I try to do it this season to see how far I could go . This is where you come in because  I need your input on which series I should blog . The first anime being voted should be the one because I doubt that there will be more than one vote.

Here’s the chart for reference

Here’s the poll

I have helpfully omitted sequels and those nippon animation series which will never get fansubbed.

Also , the poll is designed in  this way for a reason. To help me or to throw me to the hell of moe? It is all in your hand! Let there be light and god bless my success in this endeavour! Actually I don’t believe in god.
