Sometimes, I do ask myself, why do I blog? Is it because I have things that I thought are cool to say so I just indulge myself by writing them down while deluding myself that people would also think that what I wrote is cool? Or Is it because I want a discussion? Definitely the former and not the latter because I don’t actively seek out interaction with others. There are no discussions that can be derived from my post and I don’t want any of them.

I am a dull person, I don’t know how to response to a reply or make small talk. I am not interest to know how as well.

I don’t expect getting replies in the first place because sometimes I didn’t even put that much thought into what I wrote. So my reply would disappoint you. Do you want to be disappointed? How obvious should I make it that I am just writing a monologue to myself because I like doing that.

I used to read a lot of ‘discussion’ in the other blog. Hell, I even participated in some of them in this very blog. However it really begs the question whether these discussions are truly discussions because what I usually see are two different people, offering two different opinions while trying to one up the other to show who’s more accurate. Nothing really comse out of this because people would always stand by their opinion. They don’t want to be convinced and I don’t want to either.

Otherwise, it would be two people agreeing and both of you would go on masturbating one another because it makes you feel cool and it’s only polite to return handjob when people give you one.

Now, I do like comments because they are solid proof that people are reading your stuff but I don’t really care about them because I don’t expect comments. It’s like receiving chocolate for no reason. I don’t particularly like chocolate to actively seek them but it is a nice bonus if you offer them to me. I really do appreciate that you took the time to offer me some chocolate but I don’t really care if I don’t get any.

Same goes with comments that became ‘discussion’ but I don’t like this one as much because I need to offer you back some chocolate after receiving some. It’s troublesome and I am just repeating points I made anyway. I like it that you share your opinions, but I don’t like it that much to care. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate it but I just don’t care. It stills make me slightly happy but that happiness is so minor that it makes no difference whatsoever. Not to mention, if I want a different opinion, I would search them on google. I still appreciate your enthusiasm in wanting to share your opinion but it wouldn’t make a difference if you choose not to share.

Then there is also the case of you sending me expired chocolate with your vile comments. Now I don’t really mind them because I just threw them away like how I threw away expired chocolate but I still have to do the action of throwing away. It’s not difficult and I don’t feel anything from throwing shit away but needing to constantly do this simple yet unnecessary task can be tiring. Also sometimes, trashcan stinks but I only need to tolerate them for a few seconds and nothing of importance is lost.

With that said, I still rather not having to tolerate that smelly shit even though it’s painless and harmless fluff. Still, as harmless as they are, sometimes, these smelly shits just pile up and make things annoying. It’s all ok though if they don’t pile it up and to be frank, I don’t get many of these. It only happens like once a year but I only get like one comment per year anyway so I don’t really know what to make out of it.

I don’t like starting conversation. I think small talk is insincere and dishonest. They are unneeded and I am not interested.

People also don’t talk to me unless they need help. I also only talk with others when I need help. Just that I seldom have problems I can’t solve myself so I ended up not talking to anyone. I don’t know how people can make small talk. I don’t understand how people can have so much smses that they filled up their inbox. I am also not sure about the use of messenger because now I just open them to check emails and in-case people want to talk to me(this never happen).

I don’t usually @ twitter to others because I thought twitter is something for you to have a monologue with yourself. Same goes with facebook. I do comment on other’s facebook post when I thought of something witty to say or there are asking for something that I just happened to know. Otherwise I don’t comment. I also didn’t use the Facebook’s ‘like’ function once because I personally think that all of what people shared are mediocre. They don’t impress me and I don’t see the reason to like them because I honestly don’t.

As you can see, from the previous paragraph, in my mind, worthy interaction can only start if I want to impress someone, have funny things to say or helping people. I am not someone with any impressive records to showoff and I just assume my sense of humour is too weird for people to find it funny. It’s also not everyday that I can help someone so I don’t start any conversation.

I like to blog because it’s not a conversation. I am just indulging myself with my own monologue with no reason other than it felt fun having monologue. I understand that a conversation is the same and can be held without any reason other than indulging oneself but conversation would affect another person because you are wasting their time to indulge yourself. That’s very self centered and I am very self aware that I am boring so I know it’s not fun talking to me. It’s also not fun talking to them anyway.

Maybe blogging is like a pseudo conversation without direct contact. Maybe I blog because I can substitute the joy of conversation with others by conversing with myself. I think I am on this level of intelligence that I want to converse on something a little deeper but not too deep because I am not smart but I have no interest in whatever people are talking about. There are no profile like that other than myself so I just end up having monologue.

Blogging also act as a pseudo conversation because it’s out in the public and there’s a chance that people did read it. I like to tell everyone what I think but I don’t care about verbal feedback. It’s a one way thing.

I don’t know why it felt fun telling people what I think. Maybe it’s a ego thing. Maybe it’s because it felt awesome and magical that your thoughts can turn into words and became something concrete, something you can leave a mark on. Yes, that’s it!

But why is leaving a mark important? That’s a good question. I don’t know the answer. Maybe it’s about showing off your personality. Maybe because you think you are cool and people would like you if they think that you are cool. Maybe you want to showoff your inner thoughts to appear deeper so you can validate yourself. But people might not think you are cool and you are might not be able to validate yourself so why do it? Maybe this is what they called self indulgent, self pleasing and the reason why masturbation feels good even though it’s not the real thing. It’s something primal, primitive.

Now all of that just sound sad and lonely but not really, I don’t even know how lonely feels like and you don’t see me blog a lot, do you? In fact, I am so not lonely that I refuse to talk to others because sometimes I find it bothersome. A world without people is the best if I somehow can survive without the help of people producing food and all the entertainment shit operates and maintains themselves. That’s impossible so I do appreciate people, I just don’t like talking to them. I can choose to talk or not to talk to them though so it’s ok.

I also like blogging because you can tell others what you think without directly affecting others unless they want to. I am only wasting my own time here and I like wasting my time. Facebook and Twitter may serve the same purpose as blogging but people are following you there. They are forced to read your stuff because it’s on their timeline. This is why I don’t really like using them and always apologize off screen after posting my self indulgence shit there.

Blog is different because it doesn’t force itself onto others. Now, maybe they subscribed your blog on google reader and you are still pushing shit into other’s face but google reader is different because it’s easier to unsubscribe as no one would know you did. Facebook and twitter makes it very clear who unfriended or unfollow so I can see how it can be difficult not to put up with their shit because you want to be polite.

I am also not on an aggregator so there’s that. I think I spoke too fast because for some weird reason, I am on animeblogger.net. I think I did submit my feed when I first started out just for shit and giggles. Nothing happen for 1 year and I totally forgot about it then boom, I am on there and I can’t find any way to remove myself. Ahh, who cares, animeblogger.net is a dead town anyway. No one visit them anymore.
Edit: I totally forgot that comments can be constructive criticism… HA! What am I talking about. There are no constructive criticism in the comment section.

I have to jump onto this bandwagon because it’s cool.

Questions about Anime

1. Who is your favorite male anime character?

Onizuka from GTO,  Shoryu from 12 Kingdoms, the whole cast of Cromartie Highschool and many others.

But since I can only choose one, I will say Onizuka from GTO. He is awesome because he is a slacker, I like slacker characters that are secretly badass.

2. Who is your favorite female character?

People have a hard time answering this question because they have too many to choose from but I have a hard time doing the same for the opposite reason. There are no female character I like enough to think they are awesome. I like a few, namely Ogiue from Genshiken, Kaname from FMP, Kayoko from Sunred and Haruka from KGNE because I was stupid. But no, I won’t classify them as favourite.

3. What is your favorite anime soundtrack?

I don’t listen to songs. I don’t understand music. I don’t know the reason why Britney Spear sucks.

So I don’t really have any favourtie anime soundtrack. I mostly listen to what I am watching recently. Princess Arete’s soundtrack is pretty cool though.

Kagaya’s Night of the Galatic Railroad’s has cool sounding tracks as well.

4. What is your favorite anime opening + animation?

Nothing sprung to my mind when I think of anime openings. I guess I like songs such as Ai wo Torimodose, Kokoroe, Rinbu Revolution and You Get to Burning but I totally can’t remember any segments of animation from these openings.

5. What is your favorite anime ending song + animation?

This is harder to answer than the previous question.

6. What is your favorite anime scene?

Gungrave’s ending scene.

Wings of Honneamise Shiroi’s final speech.

Millenium Actress final scene.

Mind Game’s scene where they escape outside the whale.

Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku and Seizon Senryaku segment.

Book of Bantorra’s Volken death scene and Collio manly scene in episode 4.

Planetes – Looking down from here, the world has no border speech.

All are awesome but the Planetes’ one gave me goosebumps when I wrote it so Planetes’ scene then.

7. If you could meet an anime character who would it be?

Onizuka, we can share our porn archive.

8. What anime character is most similar to you in terms of personality?

No one. No matter how well written an anime character is, they are still exaggeration and dramatization.

Not to mention, in order for an anime character to work, they need to have a consistent and logical personality. Clearly, real human is good at anything except of having a consistent personality. We always contradict ourself and change our mindset as fast as a virgin cum. I can relate to bit and pieces of an anime character but I can’t identify myself with any of them.

But there is this manga character from Onani Master Kurosawa, named, Kurosawa, which I can relate and identify with because we have similar mindset.

9. What is your favorite thing about anime?

That they are animated, in 2D and have wide range of variations.

I guess it is a habit derive from years of watching cartoons but I just like animated stuff more, especially if they are 2D.  They also try not to constrain themselves with cartoonish genre. You can still enjoy stuff like crime drama, sci-fi, soap opera and other shit without an actual need to watch live action film.

But really, I just appreciate the 2D aspect and how it helps cartoons to thrive in this day and age. Best part is it gave me reason to continue watching cartoon- something which I love so much that I can’t outgrew it-.

10. What is your least favorite thing about anime?

Even though I said that anime has wide variations and doesn’t restrain itself into the frame of cartoonish genre, there are still some restrictions which anime refuses to explore. For one, I am still waiting for an epic, 50 episode of historical accurate depiction of the Sengoku period or something. Also, where are the court drama? The biopic and many other genre?

Actually, if you look at the anime library, they don’t even have a good range of D&D high fantasy stuff or good Samurai/Ninja shit. You will think that there will be an abundance of this shit but I can count good ninja stuff with one hand. What the hell man?

So I guess the refusal to explore more genres is my least favourite thing about anime.

11. Who is your favorite anime couple?

I can’t think of many favourite anime couple.

I guess Kayoko and Sunred.

12. Who is your favorite anime animal

Taisho from Taisho Ramen and Potato from Air. The potato segments in Air are the only thing I can remember from that show.

13. What anime would make a good game?

There’s a reason why the story of an anime is explored with animation rather than game. They don’t mix well.

Sure, you have some cool DBZ fighting games and some cool Gundam crossover with the whole Super Robot Wars stuff but they are still just above average shit in the realm of gaming.

Then you have other stuff like Pokemon and Yugioh which are totally an advertisement for the game itself so it gets kinda murky when deciding on whether to include these shit when answering this question.

All in all, I can’t really answer this question.

14. What game would make a good anime?

I guess visual novel has the greatest medium cross over potential with anime but I don’t play enough of them to think of any.

Other than that, the only good game to anime adaptation is Gungrave and that itself is a stretch since they only took the basic characters and premise and do their own stuff with it.

I also don’t play enough game to know which premise can be made into an anime but I will like a well done Famicom Detective Club anime to promote this criminally underrated gem.

15. What was the first anime you ever watched?

I don’t remember. I was most likely 3 when I first watch anime because my local television do play a lot of them during the morning time slot.

I have watch stuff like Dr Slump, Lupin the third and shit like that. I thought Lupin the third was kinda ok but kinda sucks because there’s no linearity when I was 9 or something. This is why I haven’t revisited any of it when I grew up.

I also know that these shows I watched are from Japan so the whole recognize this is Japanese shit point is kinda moot. I guess you can say my “gateway” drugs are GTO, Kindaichi and Flame of Recca though.

16. Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?

When I get a stable permanent job that needs me to drone for 44 hours per week plus on standby when there is an emergency call.

Everyone I know became a boring person after they got a job. When you got a job, you just don’t have enough time to think about non work related stuff. I can’t see myself being any different from them.

17. What is your favorite genre of anime?

I like true to life drama so I guess the drama genre? Is drama even a genre? MAL classify it as one but I think it’s far too broad to be considered as one. What the hell does a drama genre constitute anyway? Aren’t all anime dramatic in some way or another? I don’t get it.

So I guess I will say sci-fi since they could be true to life and mostly dramatic. My top 10 anime is full of sci-fi anyway.

18. What is your least favorite genre of anime?

Yaoi and yuri. I find them mostly to be very exploitative and I am not the target audience that they are exploiting. I can enjoy good serious non-exploitative stuff with homosexual element though.

Oh and Shoujo-romance. They all suck because their ideas and concepts don’t make sense to my male sensibility.

19. Are you open about watching anime with people you know?

I don’t actively hide it. Everyone who knows me knows I watch anime. I also wear a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann shirt which totally spell anime regularly.

I don’t think it is embarrassing or what since most people don’t really understand how gross and shitty the anime fanbase actually are.

20. Have you ever been to Japan?

I don’t even go out 50 km away from my house.

I also don’t know what you can do there and all their stuff are in moon speak anyway.

I have a JLPT N4 cert and most like can earn a N3 or N2 one yet Japanese is still moon speak to me.

21. What anime was the biggest let down for you?

Higurashi, heard that it all serious, awesome, well written, deep and best thing ever. What I got is an exploitative cheese-fest with questionable plot elements and boring characters. Oh, and post 2003 Studio Deen directing and animation, god damn they are boring and terrible.

22. What anime was better than expected?

Code Geass.

I expected it to be an ok, enjoyable show that is easy to watch but what I got is something so terrible and incompetent. Then I realise that I hate it. I hate Code Geass. Fuck Code Geass.

23. What is the best anime fight scene?

Kenshin Vs Saito and Ken & Ryu Vs Vega.

Fatal Fury OVA 2 final fight, Sword of Stranger, Kurozuka and FF7 Advent Children have pretty awesome stuff  but I guess Kenshin Vs Saito is my favourite.

24. Who is your anime waifu?

None, I hate this trend and I find it disgusting.

25. What was your favorite video game as a child?

Famicom Detective Club. Best game from my favourite genre(text adventure).

Questions about me

26-50

This is my facebook profile. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=778049741

You can know everything about me from there. You can know my face, my physical attributes, my personality, my real name, my relationship status, where I am from, how old I am and every other shit you can think of from that profile.

I will answer this question though.

Can you count the number of friends you have in one hand?

No, you can’t count zero with your hand, unless you make that hand gesture that you do when you masturbate.

To quote Wikipedia, “There is no evidence on any link between the modern romantic connotations of modern Saint Valentine’s Day and the rites of the ancient Roman festival, despite many claims by many authors.”

Translation: Marketing people made up bullshit and tarnish the fucking name of one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine just to make money. I am not a Christian yet I find that to be very offensive and insulting.

Valentine day is just a marketing tool that was forcefully pushed down your throat and encouraged consumerism which programs you to splash big money on this shallow, meaningless day. You shouldn’t conform with this bullshit and let greedy corporate earn your hard earned money by jacking up their price during this “Special Day”.

So if your girlfriend asks you for a Valentine celebration, fuck her and dump her (figuratively and literally) because she is stupid. Otherwise, educate her so to make sure your future offspring won’t become a dumbass. There is no reason you should follow something made up by someone and let them control your life.

Anyway, take your anniversary and make that your Valentine Day instead, that will be more meaningful.

Shingu is a weird show; go watch the first 3 episodes then drop it because you find it to be slow and nothing happen for long stretch of time. I wrote this because this is supposed to be an anime blog so I must force some anime shit out of my ass.

Worst show ever? Not worthy for that title.

Mars of Destruction is stupid, weak and a waste of time but worst show ever? Man, people from MAL disappoint me. Do they even watch anime? How can Mars of Destruction be the worst show ever when it was so tame and not really that boring? I can easily name 30 series that are worse than MoD.

Now we all know that” the worst show ever” have two meanings. The first being that it is so boring that it’s bad and the other one being that it is not actually terrible because it is the most awesome thing in life. In other words, so ridiculous awesome that idiots who think that they are sophisticated can’t comprehend. Some called the second type of worst “so bad, it’s good” but I don’t buy that because I think they are genuinely good because they entertain. Not to mention, it’s paradoxical and illogical for something bad to be good.

Anime like Hoshizora Kiseki, Mizuiro, Yotsunoha, Kowarekake no Orgel and Del Power X belong to the first definition of boringly bad. They are boring because nothing substantial happen. They are too tame and mediocre but they are so meh, you don’t even have any expectation for them to be disappointed or get angry about.  These mediocre series are also not morally corrupt or popular enough for you to hate because nobody likes them and they tanked like they are supposed to. For one, Del Power X is so obscure that the fansubber tried really hard to get a LD version of it. For the other shows, have you even heard of them?

I always stand by the notion of you are free to do whatever you want if you don’t harm anyone .So moe fans , do what you want and go fuck your pillow , fap to moe series , collect loli doujin , buy sissy dolls and be unknowingly creepy for all I care.

To be frank ,  even though I said that ,I have to admit that I do make fun of moe fans because they are easy targets. I don’t know why but most of them get really defensive when someone criticise some moe series even if the criticisms are reasonable . Their reactions are annoying yet hilarious and fun to watch because the things they wrote are all so unintentionally entertaining. It’s like someone getting real excited about some shitty film like Epic Movie and defend the shit out of it when people say it sucks. This is especially so when most of the retaliations are either illogical or  ad nauseum copied and pasted shit like how  you don’t get it because it’s fucking slice of life .

Firstly , they don’t know that calling K-On a “slice of life” somehow degraded its comedy value because eh , it’s slice of life and not what it actually is – a comedy . They also imply that it was meant to be bland and pointless so you shouldn’t be offended  or get bored by it when it isn’t funny or didn’t manage to see any worth of it because “it’s slice of life” makes everything ok.

Secondly ,  do they really think that people don’t understand the charm of stuff with no conflicts? That’s real insulting because people love and understand relaxing stuff with no conflicts like My Neighbour Totoro .It’s not rocket science so don’t go around assuming that people don’t understand mono no aware .

Most moe fans also somehow don’t understand the notion that any criticism is just the writer’s opinion and when they talk about moe otaku exposing their penis to wank while watching Nanoha , they didn’t mean that all moe fans who watch Nanoha masturbate when Fate got naked or something . The writers are just stating that images of otaku fapping to Fate disturb them because some of the scenarios are just outright pandering and scream “Fap at me!” .

In other words , they are not criticising the  moe fans who watched Nanoha for non sexual reason but those who really fap to Fate so don’t get all angry if you are innocent . But then if you watch Nanoha for non sexual reason yet still proclaim that you are the biggest lolicon  , which is something a lot of people do for some reason ,  then you are really courting your own demise.

Another trivia for you , people who have  images of otaku wanking when they watched a moe series are those whose mind are defiled  because they understand that Akihabara is no otaku paradise but a place with buildings after buildings of shops that sell sex toys .Trust me , know enough of such stuff and all those wanking otaku images will appear in your mind naturally.

Finally , it is really hilariously annoying when moe fans get really serious and excited about something as shallow as the shimapan of Mio.

To sum up ,getting excessively excited about minor stuff plus the constant annoying yet hysterical retaliations are the reasons why I can’t take most moe fans seriously. Though I have to make it clear that the annoyance is more of the main reason here.

So the truth is out! You now know my constant deride of moe fans is partly due to their annoying yet hilarious retaliations . Seriously I don’t hate moe for being wish fulfilling or stuff like that as that’s something really self righteous to say . Sure , the images of otaku wanking after noticing some pandering from a moe series does distract me a little but the biggest reason why I dislike moe is because the abundance of pandering that doesn’t work for me . This resulted in a banal and boring experience when a series played up their moe pandering while totally neglecting everything else. It is especially true when I prefer the pandering of decapitated heads and awesome shonen battles because you know , non sissy badass things happen .

People don’t understand why old timers keep complaining about how they don’t make anime like they used to . I didn’t understand it as well , that is until I found out the charm and atrocity of  older anime.

People always use the argument on how 80s anime are actually god awful to back up the fact that anime back then is not any better than anime now , which is true but they don’t really understand that the awfulness itself is one of the charm . Yes , a lot of older anime fail, but they have the balls to fail so hard , it became a charm which you can’t find nowadays .

I will think that the 80s to early 90s is still in the stage of trial and error , coupled with the fact that companies and sponsors have tons of money to spare for anime , lots of works are really experimental in a sense as they don’t follow any guide lines at all. The plot of old anime are bold , imaginative , extreme and most of the time crazy.  These qualities in return give people surprises and variations , even if they suck .

Whereas nowadays , the anime industry has matured and most animators understand the basic of how to create a show to sell . This however resulted in too many anime following the guidelines too closely and hence producing tons of generic show . You just can’t find the absurdity of like say, Dog Soldier in anime nowadays when it was aplenty during the 80s and 90s . If you think of it , Anime that suck  nowadays aren’t really that sucky. Akane iro Somaru is just generic and mediocre to the extend of being boring and it wasn’t bad in the sense of ridiculous bad .  This lack of boldness and originality  fail to appeal .People love variations , they prefer to watch 9/10 failed curve ball than 10/10 generic safe straight balls.

If you really pay attention to the talks between older fans ,you will come to realise that as much as they love to celebrate the true great works , they always never fail to mention about the absolute garbage as well . Sure , they might enjoy them ironically but they sure did have more fun with the garbage then than with the garbage now.

Other than the garbage being produced then is better than the garbage now , it’s also a fact that lots of animator start their directing début before they hit the age of 30 during the 80s . This is how bold anime are willing to be whereas you most director nowadays are either veteran or over the age of 50 . Even Satoshi Kon at age 47 is considered young when Hiroyuki Yamaga début with Wings of Honneamise when he was 24. This is yet another charm that you can only find during the early days.

To add on , the lack of strong niche fanbase during the early days helps to minimise the number of pandering series . Nowadays , most show must either have bishonen to attract fujioshi or girls that look like 12 years old to pander to lolicon . I am not saying that older anime don’t pander but the ratio of pandering series is definitely higher now as the fanbase to pander to are more obvious and solid than they used to be.

That’s not all but I will stop now.

Regardless , as much as I understand the “They don’t make anime like they used to” complain , I will still say that I enjoy modern anime as much as the older one . But now I am too conformed with the art style of 80s and 90s anime , post 2000 series are a little hard to follow. Not to mention , lots of series aren’t as extreme as they used to be . For example , I couldn’t see myself watching Highschool of the Dead when there are so  many other exploitative ova and films from the 80s that are more extreme and more entertaining yet have a shorter running time than HotD .  I don’t know about you but I rather watch real sex and more creative beheading in 1 and a half hours than the restricted and tame  6 hours HotD. Yes! HotD is tame when compare to the craziness of Yoshiaki Kawajiri , Kazuo Koike and Go Nagai . That’s how ridiculous yet charming anime are during the early days , all thanks to the thriving oav market.

On an unrelated note , Wolf Rain and Evangelion are old school? Ha! Even though I used the term “old anime” for 80s and early 90s anime in this post for convenience sake, I still believe that real old school are those from the black and white era.

Disclaimer: I had only read/watched less than 10 shoujo titles so my views may seem narrow minded or off tangent.

I always seems to deter myself away from shoujo/josei series because I know that I can’t enjoy them . This assumption was further fortified when I put the highly acclaimed Honey and Clover’s manga on hold after 3 volumes because the plot felt uneventful and I don’t understand what the author is trying to do because she is always jumping around with her stories.

The only chapter that I like is the one where one of the main character went back to his hometown and met his new dad . That chapter is the only chapter that felt like some kind concrete plot is going on . Even the much  lauded chapter where the guy with spec piggybacked that girl didn’t affect me at all when it was supposed to be emotional . With that I am curious of the reason why I felt that way. So I decided to list down some problems I have with shoujo series.

Before people think that I am getting a little too pretentious lately because the stuff I am blogging and watching nowadays might seem obscure so I decided to talk about the popular things among fandom now , moe .

If I were to use the broadest definition of moe, the catalogue we are talking about is too large to narrow down. You see , moe in its broadest sense can be everything or nothing depending on your perspective. Not to mention , it seems to me that when a series is connoted as being moe , it’s more of lumping all these cutesy otaku bait series which people don’t enjoy and mark it off as moe rather than actually defining a genre so there aren’t any real guide lines to define what anime is moe.

For example , is something like Suzuka moe? In its broadest sense , yes because it’s sort of wish-fulfilling if you see it that way. However , on another stand point , it can be a simple down to earth shonen romance. The author’s intention is also unclear , especially so when I don’t think he even thought about such issue when he wrote it . Not to mention , it was serialised in a popular anthology rather than something that is targeted towards the moe crowd.

Another murky example will be Aria . I personally don’t think that Aria is moe because its characterisation is innocently cute rather than a commercialised pandering , but then this cuteness may translate to moe for someone who find the characterisations to be wank material for otaku.

So how to I get to write this post? I don’t know but my personal belief is that moe is rather sinister because the main ideals are wish-fulfilling and wanking. However , on the other hand , wish-fulfilling or not depends again on your perspective and anything from a dog picture to a  vagina can be wank materials. In this case , I guess I will just list down series that are popularly connoted as pure moe shit .Or in its simplest term , I will include or exclude stuff just because I felt like it.

The list:

Kanon 2006 and Haruhi .

That’s all folks , thank you!

The less said about this the better it will be because any explanations will just be deem as some idiotic fanboy defence on moe even if they are not . This is like liking Naruto , you don’t need to state any reason other than you enjoyed the fightings because the lesser being said , the better it will be . This is also partly because there isn’t much to elaborate other than saying that they are entertaining so it’s quite impossible to pretend that you are smart when you talk about such show.

However , if you really need a reason , Kanon 2006 has interesting and unique stories with lots “innocent” comedic moments. Innocent because I always thought that the stupidities of the girls are played up for Manzai comedy effect rather than being moe and there are lots of really brilliant lines like” I have long transcend these worldly matter” just so the character can skip homework. Truth  to be told , the word moe ,annoying, creepy , erection ,otaku or I want to protect you never come to my mind when I watched this so who cares. It doesn’t matter if it didn’t bother you or you didn’t think of it that way .

As for Haruhi , I won’t talk about pretentious stuff like subversion of Harem clichés and such because I highly don’t believe in that line of argument. It’s good just because it is entertaining .
